Sara Shen's practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions, private equity fund formation and investments and other business transactions in a variety of industries. In her international work, Sara brings an insider's perspective in advising clients on complex foreign direct investments and joint ventures, cross-border M&A, technology licensing and regulatory and compliance matters involving China. She leverages relationships, Chinese regulatory expertise and knowledge of both Asian and Western corporate cultures to help clients to develop and carry out global strategies and attain their business objectives efficiently and effectively. Her work in global markets also involves project development in the power and energy sectors and other cross-border activity, including representation of Asian clients such as State Grid Corporation of China, Anton Oilfield Services Group, the venture management arm of Singapore UOB Bank, New Horizon Capital (a leading China-focused private equity fund founded by Winston Wen, son of the former Chinese Premier), Corporation China Finance Online, Hao Capital and Medtronic (a leading heart-valve and medical device company). Sara's domestic practice focuses on formation work for private equity funds and corporate and transactional work for clients in variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, entertainment, media and technology, renewable energy, oil and gas, power and manufacturing. Her work also includes representation of Chinese and other foreign companies on distribution of securities in the U.S. and exchange-listing requirements. Sara is a zealous advocate for clients on regulatory investigations and enforcement matters. Following a 10-year career at several of the world's largest global firms, Sara joined Mark Haddad to form Haddad & Shen LLP.
