MARTIN H. LEVENGLICK heads up Flatiron’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice, and is based in New York. Marty is a distinguished senior corporate lawyer and trusted advisor with deep experience across a wide array of sophisticated transactional matters. Marty’s sweet spot is advising early stage and growth-oriented businesses; the entrepreneurs who power them; and the financiers and sponsors that back them. He is sought out as a trusted strategic advisor, counselor, mentor and astute business lawyer with deep experience in a wide variety of complex business and transactional matters and mission-critical legal and commercial endeavors.

Marty’s core expertise lies in venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and board of director guidance. Business acumen, strategic thinking, a solutions-oriented and commercial mindset, situational awareness, deep subject matter expertise, keen ability to identify and manage legal risk and above all, his impeccable judgment, integrity, trust and professionalism, are Marty’s defining characteristics.

As a corporate partner in multiple prestigious law firms in New York, Marty has been fortunate to have guided extraordinarily innovative companies and a talented array of entrepreneurs, management teams, boards of directors and investors, often from a company’s inception through all stages of its life cycle (including periods of rapid expansion as well as periods of financial distress), with an industry focus upon technology, software, media and biopharma.

During his career Marty has also worked closely with venture capital funds, corporate venture capital groups and strategic investors that finance, sponsor, acquire and sell such companies, in all phases of their investment cycle, including financings, mergers and acquisitions, change-in-control transactions, and exits; and in connection with fund formation activities.

Marty began his career at O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell, a pre-eminent New York corporate and transactional boutique (now, O’Melveny & Myers), where he practiced for eighteen years following law school and is proud to have the distinction of having been elected to partner at OGK within five years of his law school graduation. Thereafter, he was a corporate partner in multiple distinguished firms, including the global law firm Orrick; Heller Ehrman; and VLP Law Group.

Most recently and prior to joining Flatiron, Marty worked inside an innovative legal tech start-up and former client of his, Reynen Court, where he headed up the company’s legal affairs and corporate development functions.
